It is important to inform here that the Government of Indonesia has issued a new regulation concerning Visa on Arrival. It has been effectively applied by the Indonesian Government for foreigners visiting Indonesia since February 1st, 2004. this new regulation can be explained as follows:

1. Free visa for short visit (30 days) is given to 11 countries.Those countries include Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Philippine, Hong Kong Special Administration Region, Macao Special Administration Region, Morocco, Peru, Chili and Vietnam.
2. Visa On Arrival is given to 36 countries and one special territory. Foreigners from these countries could obtain their visa as soon as they arrive in Indonesia. Those countries are America, Australia, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Denmark, Arabic Emirate, Finland, Hungary, England, Italy, Japan, Germany, Canada, South Korea, Norway, France, Poland, Swiss, New Zealand and one certainterritory in Taiwan.
3. Travellers awarded the Visa On Arrival facility are obliged to enter Indonesia though selected points of entries as below: Airports: Polonia (Medan), Sultan Syarif Kasirn-H (Pekan Bani), Tabing (Padang), Soekarno-Hatta (Jakarta), Juanda (Surabaya), Ngurah Rai (Bali) and Sam Ratulangi (Manado). Seaports: Sekupang Batu Ampar, Nongsa, Marina Teluk Senimba (Batam), Bandar Bintan Telani Lagoi, Bandar Sri Udana Lobarn (Tanjung Uban), Belawan (Belawan), Sibolga (Sibolga), Yos Sudarso (Durnai), Teluk Bayur (Padang), Tanjung Priok (Jakarta), Padang Bai (Bali) and Jayapura (Jayapura) and seven harbors.
4. Countries excluded from this facility are kindly requested to obtain the visa at the Indonesian Embassies in their countries of origin.
5. Visitors staying for 7 days in Indonesia are obliged to pay for US $10 per person. While those staying for 8-30 days will5. Visitors staying for 7 days in Indonesia are obliged to pay for US $10 per person. While those staying for 8-30 days will have to pay for US $ 25 per person. The departure tax for international destination is Rp. 100.000,- per person, while for domestic, it is Rp. 30.000,- per person.
   

Health Regulation

• Valid vaccination certifi cates of smallpox, cholera and yellow fever are required from those coming from infected areas. Bali is a tropical island so visitor should be aware of the danger of sunburn and protect themselves by wearing a hat and using sun lotion. Medicines can be obtained with doctor's prescription at local chemist shops called "Apotik".

Custom

• According to custom regulation. one adult is allowed to bring into Indonesia a maximum of one liter of alcoholic beverages, 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars or 1000 grams of tobacco and reasonable amount perfume. Photographic, video and fi lming equipment radios, typewriters and cars are admitted provided they are recorded in your passport on entry and taken out of the country on departure. Narcotics, firearms and ammunition, TV sets, and Chinese medicines are strictly prohibited to import or export Indonesian currency exceeding Rp. 50.000.000,-
